Good day.
As you read the progression of zaps, you'll note the magicians point to God, the officials recognize the greatness of Moses, and a large band of others - most likely slaves - follow the Israelites out of Egypt.
Even Pharaoh's confession moves from ? know God who? to a recognition that Moses has a God to whom prayer might be made.
At issue was a belief in that era of each nation/racial group having their own god - and frequently those were not transferable. Hence Pharaoh, the Egyptian god, could not recognize the Is. God. Nor could anyone else and remain an Egyptian.
It gets hilarious in the Bible at times. Naaman, healed of leprosy, thinks he can only pray on Is. soil, but is a top general in the arch-enemy Assyrians army. Hmmm, what to do? He loads up 2 donkey loads of Is. dirt for a prayer box back home in Ninevah.

Pharaoh was convinced, but were the Egyptians? Remember God hardened the Pharaoh's heart.

Sho-Nuff(love that old movie) A few times in Egypt's history they did worship God as did some of the other "Big" countries.
I re-read some of Joseph's story and I believe that God was worshiped, but not by all.
Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego(sp?) turned a nation to God. Also Jonah.
Why do we have trouble worshiping him? The Jews bounced around countless times because they lacked faith. Christians are not exempt either.

Unfortunately if u were to do any research on this topic in Egypt, you will see that there is NO RECORD of a Moses ever being in Egypt.
NO RECORD of an Abraham
NO RECORD of a Joseph
NO RECORD of the Israelites
NO RECORD of a Jesus
NO RECORD of a Pharaoh named Abimelech
NONE of what is found in the bible about Egypt, can be found in Egypt. Ask ANYONE in Egyptology if this is true; and the Egyptians recorded everything. You could even find records of love letters but no record of the biblical accounts or characters.
Some-body's lying and the liar has no proof.

Smart question, Since Pharoh was so convinced of the power of this Jewish God, it would stand to reason that if his own gods were no match for the Jewish God, to make Judaism the state religion.....

pharoah never wanted to worship God. He just knew he had been defeated. He was tired of the plagues and saw they they would become worse if he did not let the Jews go.

Because the story and explanation for the plagues was latter attributed to god by the jews to make themselves sound more important.
Who would want to mess with a people with god on their side?

At least one did, Moses. Do you really think a Jewish kid would be adopted by Egyptian royalty and made a prince?
