He sends an email saying he likes you a whole lot but cannot date you. You tell him that you two can still share a good friendship, but then he starts to compliment you a lot and share his deepest secrets with you. What is he up to???

He's either married or has another girlfriend. I think he's playing with you. Why don't you ask him what he's up to if he said he can't date you? I've heard that no man sees a girl as just a friend, they always want sex, they think about sex I don't know how many times a minute. And if you're hoping that by being his friend maybe he'll date you with time, don't waste your time, when a guy likes a girl and wants to be with her, he is. I wouldn't keep someone a friend when one of you is interested in the other. That's just asking for trouble and hurt feelings. Hopefully a guy will give you some input.

maybe he isn't ready for a relationship, or isn't confident enough to ask you out on a date. he probably genuinely likes you, but wants to get to know you better first before he can make up his mind. do you like him back? do you know him in person? if you do like him back and actually know him, you should probably tell him so he might feel more confident to ask you out on a date.

He's up to playin'. Leave him cold, girl, who needs the mindf***? You deserve better. There are plenty of nice men around who are happy to show real appreciation to a woman.

up to no good, i suspect. have a good talk to him in person, because email or messenger can get too confusing. but have the talk in a public place.... :)
