He can apply at the motor vehicle dept for a work only permit with specified hours. There is good and bad with this. If he is caught driving after the work hours - the tags to your vehicles can be siezed and suspended for the same time period of his revoked license.

How long was his license suspended for? He will not get it back until that time period is up. If it is one year, then it is one year. He will not qualify for a hardship license. I know that for sure in the state of TX, but am pretty sure it will be the same where you are. In TX, you are automaticaly disqualified for a hardship license if you have suspended license for DUI, even if you would normally qualify.

They do the same thing here for foodstamps. If you get convicted of a drug offense, you lose your foodstamps, even if you qualify. If you have the money for drugs, you have the money to buy your own food.

If he was able to go out drinking and driving, there must not have been that much of a hardship before hand.

Your husband needs to get off the road - he is putting other's lifes at risk, not just his own. Personally I take drunk drivers as a personal threat, as if someone were walking around with a gun shooting at people. Stop the shooting, he needs help and the last thing he needs to be doing is operating a motor vehicle.

One DUI is a mistake. Any more than that is stupidity. He doesn't belong on the road. Sell his car and I hope he never gets his driver's license back.
