This verse is found in Luke 18:7. My question is: who are these "elect" that Christ speaks of?

God's elect are those who have put their faith in Jesus for their salvation. We suffer now, but the rewards of heaven will be indescribable. And we are not to take revenge for our sufferings here on earth. In the end it will be God who will avenge all the wrongs done to us.

The word elect is used 6 times (I think) in the NT. One can get a better definition of the word in Matthew 24 which shows that the word refers to believers. The association of "elect" and "you" (disciples) is clearly made in verses 22-24. Jesus says, "And unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days shall be cut short. Then - if any one says to you...so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect" The association of "elect" and "you" (disciples) in these verses is clearly made.

did you read the whole scripture complete? take note:
Luke 18 :1-8
Jesus used this illustration with his disciples to show them that they need to pray all the time and never give up. He said, "In a city there was a judge who didn't fear God or respect people. In that city there was also a widow who kept coming to him and saying, 'Give me justice.'
For a while the judge refused to do anything. But then he thought, 'This widow really annoys me. Although I don't fear God or respect people, I'll have to give her justice. Otherwise, she'll keep coming to me until she wears me out.'"
The Lord added, "Pay close attention to what the dishonest judge thought.Won't God give his chosen people justice when they cry out to him for help day and night? Is he slow to help them? I can guarantee that he will give them justice quickly. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"

God bless you.

You must be refering to the bipolar God of the Bible. He can't decide if he is "I SHALL SMITE YOU ALL!!! YOU ARE DESTINED TO HELL PUNY MORTALS!!! BOW BEFORE ME ANYWAY!!!" or "I love you so much. Now be good little Christian boys and girls and I'll let you into Heaven.
