If she's 18 he's not a pedophile. If she were 12 or younger, it's a good bet he would probably be mentally ill and should be locked up as a pedophile. Being a pediphile is worse than being a rapist. don't use that word loosely, since a false accusation is a different form of rape and diminishes the severity of the real crime when it happens. "Crying Wolf" is the phrase which comes to mind.
You don't like him, or the fact that he is dating such a young gal. That's a different matter. Many parts of the world would have your friend married at 14 and even in this country at 18 she is free to marry any man she wants to.
OK, so now that we have that straight, I agree that she shouldn't be dating a man that old. A friend told me a formula that works pretty well for age differences. Take the older age, divide by two, and then add ten tears to the result. That works out to 26/2+10=23. He should be dating 23 year olds at the youngest.
When I was 38 I married a woman 13 years younger. Since she was 25 I in no way would be considered a pedophile, yet the age difference was more apparent as time went by. I tried to break it off before the wedding, but you know how stubborn women are when they see a sugar daddy. It lasted a very long bad year.
So what do you do? If you make it about him or you, you are pushing her to him since she gets his approval and your criticism. Better off to hang with them, and talk about things he would have no interest in or can't understand because he is too old. She will understand pretty quick when he doesn't know her music, fashion, or other such things.
8 years isn't really much. that now puts me dating women in their 40's ... middle age is middle age. In 10 years when he is 36 and she is 28, they would be just right as a couple age wise.
If however, you live in a state where the legal drinking age is 21 and he is buying her alchohol, he is committing a crime and can be arrested. Same with drugs. If either of these are happening, tell the cops. Otherwise, just hang in there and try to be her friend. whatever, DON'T GLOAT when it all turns sour and he dumps her for a hot 30 year old with a great job and a Porche.
Just be her friend. That's the most you can do.

Umm... 18 and 26 may be quite a big gap, but it's not pedophilia. If she was 12, the guy would be a pedophile. She's 18... even if she dates a 40 year old he isn't technically a pedophile. 18 is a consenting adult.

a pedophile (by definition) likes to have sex with children. In almost every state of the union, 18 is an adult. If she's old enough to vote or get shot in Iraq, she's old enough to date somebody who's immature enough to want to date someone 8 years younger when he's 26.
Honestly, an 18-21 year old guy isn't going to treat her any better, anyway. All men are dogs; young ones, especially so.

You've asked this question 3 times... a 26 year old is not an elderly man first of all and if your friend is 18 than he is not considered a pedophile. Could it be that you are jealous?

First before you judge him completely, look online for a pedophile list and make sure he is on it, also check what he did to get put on the list. A man can be 18 dating a 16 yr old and if they had sex, he is considered a pedophile.....If you are still not satisfied, sit her down and talk to her about how you are feeling, she is your friend so she will listen, not saying she will actually break up with him, but she will hear what you have to say!

If he's a registered sex offender/pedohile who has done time or on probation, then you could do something. However, if it is in regards to your friend she is legally an adult who is entering into a relationship with her own, personal, adult consent. Are you just jealous that he BF is hot, treats her well and she's happy with him? There is really nothing wrong with a 26 year old dating a 18 year old. They're both adults.
