Better to RECITE the Quran is a language you dont understand, than read what it actually says, which is of course, what most Muslims do.

I mean, for example, would you think this is from God if you read it and understood it ---

Quran 8:12 “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them. http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/msa/quran/008.q...

OFCOURSE NOT. Now, if you recited this verse in a language you didnt understand, thats different...you can "feel" holy and "righteous".

Why do you think Muslims make such a big issue about translation? As absurd as the claim that "arabic cant be translated is", its better to try and make this claim then let people read the shear horror of the Quran.

Yeah, that's like "The Koran has on no account been replaced!" (yet curiously Arabic is a mystical language the place each and every word has a dozen different meanings and curiously a variety of of Muslims (the 'moderates') have on no account heard of 'abrogation' and are able to interpreting the Koran, seeing @ a hundred sturdy verses and questioning those outweigh the thousand or so undesirable verses. And curiously they think of that the actuality that any verse interior the Koran is accessible for the technique of 'scientific dazzling bullshyt' is a few variety of wonderful element, proving that's divine, on no account techniques that i might desire to do an analogous trick with Winnie the Pooh. in short, their apologetics are purely as lame and self serving because of the fact the Christian apologetics. the adaptation is that Christians and Muslims are additionally competing in a different way: their habit on the international degree. So whilst the Christian is being deluded and giving indignant comments some action picture he did not like, the Muslims are trumping that huge time by additionally being deluded yet happening a rebellion and killing a number of human beings over a youtube video.

I'm sooo sick of people like you NOT reading that verse COMPLETELY and in CONTEXT!!! What's WRONG with you ignorant people???!!!
Surah 8 is about a BATTLE (The Battle of Badr)!! The Title of Surah 8 is even "The Booty" or "The Spoils of War"!!! If you'd read FURTHER, you'll know this!!! So stop reading the Quranic verses in such a way that you just pick and choose which words to post on here!!!!
Those verses do NOT apply to some daily affair!! ONLY to wars!!!! A battle takes two sides to occur. Are you under the impression that while these 'horrid' Muslims were fighting, the enemies were simply standing there like good little peaceful men?
There are other idiotic non-Muslims who quote Sura 9.5: "When the sacred months have passed, kill the idolaters whereever you find them."
BUT they totally leave out the COMPLETION!!! Why? Because 9:4 says: "But the treatires are not dissolved with those Pagans with whom you have entered into alliance and who have you subsequently failed you in aught, nor aided anyone against you. So fulfill your engagements with them to the end of their term: for God Loves the righteous."
And verse 6 says, "If one among the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him so that he may hear the Word of God; and then escort him to where he can be secure."
So basically what has been done above is:
1. The background to each sura was shown. One cannot take a verse revealed for a battle and insist it is if for the daily affairs of Muslims.
2. It was shown how Non-muslims who wish to attack Islam, conveniently leave out verses before and after their quoted verse.
So, you see, WE MUSLIMS KNOW how to read and translate the Quran VERY well!!!!!!! "YOU" and your fellow ignorant, anti-Muslim non-Muslim fellows DON'T!!!!! But we don't care! It's not gonna stop us from practicing our faith properly. We're too serious about our religion, by the Grace of the One Lord!
So OPEN your blinded EYES and your blinded HEART and your blinded MIND!!!
Peace be upon you, nevertheless.

I, as a Muslim, wish the opposite was true. I wish that people would get over the idiotic idea that we'll go to hell if we don't learn Arabic. . .its pointless. I've read several different translations of the Qur'an and it's just as powerful. It shows that God has a loving side but won't let you get away with murder either. He is the most merciful and kind, as well as the one who will punish you for the evil you've done you refuse to correct. So yes, I do wish people would read, comprehend and recite the Qur'an in their native language so they can see the beauty and, as you have "so kindly" put it, the horror, of what will await them on Judgment Day.
And why they don't translate? Simply because of this modern capitalizing mess that most are afraid of. The older ones fear losing their culture. Does this make sense to you now?
Thanks for reading this, if in fact you actually did, and have a blessed day!
