David T indicated that tithing made a difference in his financial life (see link). I've tithed, and I've not tithed, and I've never noticed any difference in how I do financially (other than having more money for myself by not tithing). Does tithing or not seem to make a financial difference in your life?

First year I tithed I got a gob that paid 2x what I was making. One year I did not tithe and could net get out of debt. So, I am back to tithing and things have already gotten better.

Always tithe your first 10% not your last. Read about the feast of firstfruits in the Bible and you will see why.

G-d doesnt want leftovers, He wants our best! Then we get His best!

Yes all the atheists say its a coincidence, just like earth, life, universe, etc. Thats their answer to everything.

It's not the tithing that makes the difference. It's not the amount of money you tithe either. It's what's in your heart. God wants you to give with a cheerful heart. Do you really think he needs your money?

I'm blessed to attend a church that does not pass the plate around on Sundays. There is a tithe box at each entrance. You give what you can when you can. That gives me the freedom to give freely ... and cheerfully. This church paid off it's 30 year mortgage in 8 years and has never been in debt since. And we support all kinds of ministries.

Give out of love, expecting nothing from God in return. He will reward you many times over.

Tithing is simply giving a portion back to God what He has already given to you. If you are selfish with your 10% tithe, then how can God trust you with larger issues?
You say you have noticed no difference by tithing.
I will respond to that by saying...How do you know God hasn't kept you from physical problems, or major financial problems, or family problems, or broken hearts?
God has many ways to reward us, peace, happiness, contentment, health, love - etc. We take to many of these things for granted and don't give God the glory for these things. We come to expect them and forget that they are truly blessings for living in obedience to Christ.
You have no idea what God has saved you from simply because you have been tithing.
Tithing makes a spiritual difference, not always a financial difference.
God Bless You....Peace.

The idea behind tithing is not a financial strategy. It is that if you give of yourself with good heart and good intention and generosity then you will be rewarded. I don't believe in giving a set amount to a church or other organization but if you give to those who are in need when they need it it will come back to you when you are in need. If you know someone who is down on their luck give them $20. I think that is the truest form of tithing.

Yes. It made a huge difference in my life. I started tithing faithfully (10% of gross income) during a time when I could not really afford to. I put my faith in God to provide and He did. You have to do it continually, not just on again off again. Now we're in the best financial shape we've ever been in. This is the only time God has ever said in the bible to test Him--this principle of tithing. See Malachi 3:10.

No Tithing is not a requirement of Christianity. It has been twisted around as a way for churches to get more money. Long ago there was no government welfare so this function was provided by the church. Tithing was the right thing to do. It is not right to give so much money to the church just so they can buy fancy stuff. I give away 10% of my income but I am very careful who I give it to and only a small part goes to the church.

You should tithe or not depending on how it makes you feel, not what others say that you should. I personally don't think that you need to tithe to a church, although often they want you to because they need the money to pay all of their expenses, which are often wasteful. You could tithe to the charities which you want to support.

It is interesting that some people tithe because of what they think that they will personally get out of it, which is basically greed. Do it because you want to help others, not out of selfish interest in what you think that you will get out of it, other than a good feeling helping others.

I tithe. The word tithe means a 10th.In MALACHI God said" prove ye me".It is the only time in the Bible we can put God to a test.
But my husband and myself have tithed for over 30 years. We have been blessed more times then I can count.
I also believe that as I give to the church, the church must be helt accountable to God.
It is also my way to feed the poor, cloth the naked, shelter the homeless. The offering we give helps with these needs.
WHO CAN OUT GIVE GOD?
I WILL NEVER ROB GOD.<><
I thank God for the 90% he gives me to live on.

Have you ever considered the actual history of tithing? Do you know what the Bible indicates as to how & why it should be done, and whether it is a current requirement of Bible believers?

How tithing impacts your finances should be the last concern on your mind. The idea behind tithing is funding and upkeeping Gods missions here on earth and helping too poor. Tithing isnt about you, its about Gods will and church!
