when asking a question like Quieres ir al cine conmigo? do you change ir to vas.

ok thanks because my spanish book is a little unclear and my teacher is a bit incompetent so i needed to know that for the final and its much appreciated

¿Quieres ir al cine conmigo? - Is correct

You go to the movies with me = Tú vas al cine conmigo.

Will you go to the movies with me? = ¿Vas al cine conmigo?

No you don't. Your sentence is made up of 2 verbs. "You want" and "to go". Whenever you have 2 verbs in a sentence right behind each other you only conjugate the first verb "you want" or querer and leave the second verb in what is called the inifinitive. (slimply meaning it's not conjugated)....So your question ....
"¿Quieres ir al cine conmigo?" ....is correct.

Quieres=conjugated verb 1 and ir=infinitive verb 2

I remember spanish from a while ago but no...I believe what you are saying is correct. If you used vas....like "vas al cine conmigo...that would mean do you (in the familiar) go to the movie with me. Hope this helps.
