Is it true? Or is it fake? And where did it originate from?

Not sure where that came from, but please do not put Vaseline on your eyelashes. Vaseline is very thick and can attract and hold dirt in your lashes causing infections in your eye. If you want the look of longer lashes try a really good mascara or lash extensions done by a professional.

I'm not really sure where it originated from, but it needs to end! LOL

No, Vaseline does NOT make your eyelashes grow longer. Your eyelashes already have a pre-determined length that they will grow, and it, in most cases, will not change.

An eyelash lifespan is 5-6 months.

Vaseline is a product that really isn't (and this is kind of disgusting) able to be broken down by the body. So, putting Vaseline on your body for an extended period of time is not good. Scientific studies have shown that when vaseline is put on the body over a course of time, the body does absorb the vaseline, but it is not able to actually break the product down. What does this result in?

Look at it this way... if you were to lift the skin of a person who has been applying vaseline to their body for, let's say, 10 years, you would probably find about an inch of vaseline, undisturbed, underneath the skin. Almost like a layer of fat, but on top of the fat!

Makes you never want to use Vaseline again, huh?

I've read many beauty articles by cosmotologists and experts that swear by this trick. they say if u use a clean mascara wand/brush and put vaseline on it and put a thin layer on your lashes (just like applying mascara) every night. they say by 3-4 weeks once your old lashes start to fall out, the new ones will grow very long. even those who were skeptical of it, say it worked for them.

just make sure to only apply it to ur lashes, not ur eyes or skin.
im trying this out myself, so i should know in about a month if this actually works!

What about vaseline would make your lashes grow? It may make you blind since it is not water soluable and can get into your tearducts over time.

No; it does not help with anything except for being emollient and keeping your skin soft and supple.
