Honey, if the doctor didn't seem concerned, try to calm down. Your doctor would have come out and told you if it was something to be worried about...I'm sure of it! Sometimes it just takes longer, and remember - all pregnancies are different! Relax and try to stay positive. I know it's difficult, but it's the only thing that you can do right now. Worrying won't get you anywhere. Good luck on your next ultrasound! I hope everything goes wonderfully and you realize that you worried for nothing.

I was in for my first appt. at thirteen weeks. My doctor told me that if my appt. had been a week or so later I would probably be able to hear the heartbeat, but warned me that even at thirteen weeks they could only find it about half the time, so not to worry if they couldn't. Sure enough, they couldn't find it. A month later at my next appointment they found it right away and all was good.
The fetus is still very small at that age and moves around a lot, so it's just up to chance whether it will be in the right spot for the heartbeat to be able to be heard.

With my second child they couldn't hear the heartbeat and had to schedual a sonogram at 16 weeks. They found the heartbeat then. Try not to worry untill you know for sure. Sometimes they like to hide in the nooks and crannies where the docs cant pick up on the heartbeat. Best of luck I'll say a prayer for you.

don't worry to much as stress isn't good for you.
With my #4 they couldn't find a heart beat at 14 weeks so I got sent for an ultrasound, those 4 days Waite was hard (over thinking). anyway It turned out to be that my placenta was right smack in the front preventing the doctor from hearing anything but my own heart beat! so it was a few more weeks untill the baby was big enough to pickup the heatbeat at the doctors office

At my 12 week check up my doc told me not to really expect to hear the heartbeat because sometimes you just don't that early on. I heard the heartbeat for about 2 seconds, mostly just heard the baby moving...
If your doc isn't worried, you shouldn't be.

Hi sweetie...hang in there, when I went for my ultrasound at 11 weeks I was told that it may be difficult to hear it and that she couldn't guarantee as it was still pretty early. If it were 16 weeks or so I'd be concerned but even though you could hear it with your other ones, every pregnancy is different.
Keep the hope.....

I wouldnt worry so much.. with my 1rst, I heard the heart beat at 8-9 weeks... but this time I didn't hear it until 15 weeks..... I was freaking out, but at my 15 week visit I was able to hear nice and loud.. that relieved a lot of stress that was building.... trust me... you will hear it soon.... don't worry.... another thing, if there wasn't a baby anymore you would know for sure.. there wouldnt be any denying it....... Good Luck!!!! And Take Care!!!

awww dont be to stressed...usually and im not saying you are overweight but iam and they told me that they would not be able to hear the heartbeat that early due to the fact that the baby is not big enough and because of my weight...not only that im 27 weeks now and they sometimes cant hear the heartbeat cause of how the baby is positioned...just think positive and know that what ever happens is up to God....im sure though everything will be fine...keep your head up and dont stress its not good for the baby:)

at 14 weeks last week my doctor had a heck of a time. She almost gave up before she barely heard the heart for just a few seconds. With my second pregnancy I had the same problem. I guess my second and third just like to hide.

that is 100% normal same thing happens to me as well i went at 21 weeks and no heart beat at all the midwife told me that the baby is hiding somewhere that she cant seen to hear the heart beat and she just laugh about it. don't worry your next appointment will be different or if you cant wait have your partner place his ear on your abdomen that will help. Good luck.
by the am 31weeks in myself.
