They will customize a package for you based on your/your family's income and the cost of your school. You will get a package for both Fall and Spring and if you go to summer school, they will put that in there, too. You just fill out the application and put what semesters you will be enrolled in.

My son gets grants through FAFSA and he got some in the Fall and now another handout for Spring and he can get a Summer grant as well but that is still being debated. CLASSES must be passed or you will be on scholastic probation.

You fill out one FAFSA form each year. They will help determine what grants or loans you are eligible for (ie. Pheaa or Pell grants) This report will then be sent to the college of your choice. An award notice will be sent to you and you choose or decline the grants and/or loans. The funding you choose will be divided equally between the semesters.

FAFSA administers grants and loans on a yearly basis. You get a certain amount for the school year and it is divided between the two semesters. You must re-apply for FAFSA every school year and your eligibility is re-evaluated each year.

FSFSA provides both subsidized and unsubsidized federal loans. They will award you a particular amount at the beginning of each academic year. However, only half of the award will be applied during the first semester, saving the additional funds for later. Basically, you are awarded yearly, but the funds are dispersed in two segments.
