This is very hard to stop. So you need to put her in a room that has no furnitures. If you insist that she'll be in the room with the furnitures, definitely she will still climb because it is cat instinct to climb. Climbing is not a problem but furniture scratching. You can have her declawed. Bring her to the vet. Sounds inhuman but it is not. Cats will feel the pain only in one to two days and they will be fine. She can be given pain killer in one or 2 days. You will be amazed with the result. I had my cat declawed because she had been scratching all my furnitures and it was getting worse. After declawing, as if nothing happened in two days time she walks though with slight limping and in a week, the wound was completely healed.

You dont.. A cat has a mind of its own. If you want an inside cat then it will do what it pleases.. I know I have had a bunch of inside cats..So either take it or give it away. No sense in trying to scold a cat as in that will not do.

Why would you want to do that? My cats love my bed and love to curl up next to me on the couch. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT declaw the cat! That is cruelty to animals, it hurts them very much and if the cat ever gets outside it will not be able to defend itself. People who do that are ignorant and selfish and should not have a cat. No self-respecting vet. would perform this cruel surgery.

there are sprays out there, but they never worked on my cats. all i can do is smack them on their butts when i see it. there's gotta be something that works, but i haven't found it yet. been a cat owner since i was 6 and now i'm 23, with no luck in this department. sometimes a spary bottle works, until the cat (well mine at least) learn to open their mouths and try and 'catch' the water. lol
