Every time I go to do her laundry there are "skid marks" in her panties. I don't know what to do anymore. I have bought baby wipes to put in the bathroom and I have talked to her many times about it. she just doesn't take the time to wipe herself clean. Does anyone have any advice on this subject??

Yes I have explained to her about infections and smelling bad. I have showed her how to wipe the right way as well.

She will grow out of it. Just try and help her and guide her as much as you can... She will find her own method! So what's a few skid marks... I guarantee you by the time she is a teenager you won't even remember this silly little problem.

Im having the same problem with my 9 year old daughter. I talked to our family doc and she said that skid marks arent ness. a sign that she isnt wiping good, it could be that she waits to use the bathroom until she cant hold it anymore and a little may come out as she is trying to get to teh bathroom. My doctor had a private talk with her (and a nurse) about the situation and it seemed to help. The doc adv me to check the toilet before she flushed to make sure toilet paper was used. She also adv to use wipes instead of toilet paper. I recommend making an appointment with your/her pediatrician or family doc and addressing the issue at the appointment. Good Luck and Take Care.

My 6 year old boy had the same problem. I just thought he wasn't wiping enough.

Well, a child should be making a bowel movement every day. He was only going every 3 days and holding it. And when he was holding it, he'd wipe his bottom and the stain would be on the underwear. I guess he was trying to push it in?

Anyway, had to see the doctor, because he had an impacted bowel.

Watch her schedule. See how often she goes.

Make her clean her own panties in the sink. It is not just about the infections and all that it is discusting. Let her know it is discusting. Make her clean the toilets and do the laundry. I would think she would have to have some conscience for her actions.

I don't have children yet but I would suggest buying a washtub and making her handwash her dirty underwear outside in the backyard. I know this is a bit "trailer like", but a little embarrassment may be the motivation she needs to take care of this problem.

Have you bothered to explain to her WHY it's so important to wipe? Infections, smelling bad .. etc? Most of the time kids listen if you explain your reasons in language they understand.
Otherwise, just wipe her yourself.

It is simple laziness on her part. Start making HER clean her own underwear by hand.
