I want to check out some new comedians who I have never heard of. I love Billy Connolly, Jack Dee, Frank Skinner, Lee Evans so don't mention them please!

I would say Rowan Atkinson in the British comedy series "Mr. Bean". Watching him in the series is simply hilarious. He doesn't do the antics and dialogues most comedians do (like throwing cakes in people's faces, slapping another with rolled newspaper pages, and other slapsticks). He rarely speak in his role on the screen. But his actions and facial expressions plus simple story plots all carry it out. Mr. Atkinson really got the natural talent to make the audience roar with laughter.

The Original Kings of Comedy (Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley, Cedric The Entertainer, Bernie Mac), The Original Latino Kings of Comedy (George Lopez, Cheech Marin, Joey Medina, Alex Reymundo, Paul Rodriguez), The Blue Collar Comedy Tour (Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, Ron White, Larry the Cable Guy) and Carlos Mencia, Richard Pryor, George Carlon, Eddie Murphy, Denis Leary

All are hilarious

Eddie Izzard, Bill Bailey, Jim Carrey, Ben Elton, Jo Brand, Ken Dodd, Joan Rivers, Bette Middler, Jenny Eclair
Hawk has a good selection.....
You can get some of these on audio (cassette tape!) from the library, is less expensive than video.
BUT, it does help to see what they're on about....

Start with Eddie Izzard, and the one about cats and dogs. I love Billy Connolly's stage show, and this is the only comic who made me laugh more than him...

M : )

I heard a Canadian stand up some time ago called Mike Willmot. I thought he was great at his adult comedy but could never find a vid or DVD of him. I think Chubby Brown is great and topical and very close to the edge but after the initial cringe what he said is usually very funny.

Jasper Carrott. I don't know why but he just makes me laugh. He's had me crying loads of times. Also Lenny Henry as he does a lot of jokes about his family in his Dudley and Jamacian acsents.

Peter Kay...undisputed no1. Has tales we all relate to,it has all happened to us. I hate these American so-called comedians.
Comediennes??.....Jo Brand....same reasons as Peter Kaye.
They should get a one-off double act...I'd pay to see that!
