If you went back to then, from now with all that you know about prophecy, providence, and salvation, would you try to stop the crucifiction? I understand that you wouldn't be able to thwart God's plan of redemption, but, would you even question his methods?

Think carefully, and speak honestly...

For 37 years of my life I always wished I could go back in time to save Jesus until I learned from God's Plan of Redemption. I still cry when I think how much he must have suffered but now I know I have to do my part, too.

I don't think if there is a god, he could allow a human to travel back in time to that period, for this very reason of interfering or changing his plan.
If you stopped the crucifixtion it would prove that there actually was no savior and no salvation, and therefore no god. not the christian version anyway.
So yeah, I guess i'd try to stop it. If i succeeded it would prove that there is no god, and if i failed it would prove that there is a plan for redemption.
I really don't think I could stop it though, if I could, why couldn't his 11 buddies try to stop it?

I was thinking about that just the other day. I wouldn't try to stop the Crucifixion, but I would sure be quoting some passages from Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53 to the Pharisees and the other mockers who were surrounding our Lord.

Psalms 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. (17) I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. (18) They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. (4) Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. (5) But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (6) All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
