Of course, you have a predetermined genetic height maximum, but your height is determined not only by genetics, but also by your environment, diet etc. You should listen when they tell you to drink milk, a diet rich in calcium WILL help you grow big and strong and help insure that you meet your height capacity. Look back and see if any of your grandparents were tall. If say, your great-grand-pappy was 6'4" there's a good chance you can be too! My parents are short, hell everybody in my family is short with the exception of my maternal grandfather, I was lucky and have peaked at about 6'4." YAY!

Your genes control your height. You have the genetic material from both parents and they from theirs and so on back through the generations. Sometimes a gene that is recessive in both parents can become dominant by being passed on to the offspring. For example, my mother was 4'11 at best (short, even for a woman) and dad was about 5'7" (also considered short for a man.) I'm 5'9" tall.

Yes, is there anyone in your extended family that is tall? If so there is a chance you can be taller than your parents.

Probably. Depends why they're short. If it was lack of nutrition/sleep when they were little, you can help your odds by eating well and sleeping enough. Otherwise, there's not much you can do. But eating well and getting enough protein are never a bad idea. Some research says you should avoid caffeine and other stimulants (ADD meds, etc) to avoid stunting your growth.
