Maybe you're eating butter.

By only eating one meal a day (I assume low calories in total), you are starving your body. Your body thinks there is a food shortage and lowers your metabolism accordingly. As soon as you eat more than usual, your body will pile on the fat because it feels the need to survive at all costs.

If you want to reduce fat percentage and increase muscle then you need to slowly increase you food intake balanced against a gradual increase in exercise so your body doesn't "notice" the change.

Eating only one meal per day is likely making your body fat percentage higher. When you are hungry and not taking in enough food, your body will burn muscle. The less muscle you have, the higher your percentage of body fat.

To reverse this process, you should eat smaller meals more often. And weight train to build muscle! Also, cardio to burn fat. But be sure that you are eating enough or you won't make any muscle gains.

because one meal a day is the worst way to treat your body. You're basically starving yourself for 23 hours and then shoving a bunch of food in. So much food in one sitting causes your stomach to expand, so you won't have washboard abs.

Also, since you're body has to make that meal last for so long it slows down its metabolism and stores food as fat.

To lose body fat you should
1) spread out your meals to 2 - 3 hour intervals. eat 5 or 6 small meals every day.
2) drink lots of water
3) exercise
4) eat breakfast as soon as you wake up, this is the most important meal to kick start your metabolism

If you don't eat enough then your body stores any fat that you do have because it thinks it's going to be starved - therefore your metabolism slows down - you should eat 3 healthy meals a day to keep system ticking over - eat 5 portions of fruit/veg - include protein, chicken/fish etc and avoid processed foods and chocs n crisps etc - most of all INCREASE EXERCISE! Good luck x

You are not eating regularly, so therefore your body is thinking "Oh..not sure when i'll get my next meal". So what it does is to store the food you eat as fat as a contingency. Eat regular healthy meals, excercise and you will lose it - trust me

Without knowing what you are eating it is difficult to answer however my guess is that you are not eating enough and are consuming either low fat products (which have a high carb content) or refined carbohydrates which give you a lardy body.

because your body has gone into starvation mode, your metabolism has slowed right down and your body is storing everything you eat as fat as it doesn't know when it is going to get fed again.

You should eat regular, small, well balanced meals.

I'll bet you have no energy either...
