I just searched for it and in my surprise the Native Americans from New Mexico did.

The Native Americans were some of the first to pop popcorn. They took the popcorn seeds and held them over the fire. You can make popcorn the same way today by putting them in a frying pan with olive oil.

Corn is native to the America's for some reason. The North American Indians knew about popcorn, I would guess the Central and South American Indians found out about it also.
