I believe pencils actually contain graphite, not lead - so no lead poisoning.

No worries! Your pencil lead is not actually lead - it's a form of carbon called graphite. The lead you're thinking of is a metal and is not found in pencils. So, no chance of lead poisoning! On the other hand, you did break skin, so keep an eye on it for infection. If it obtains a strange coloring or still hurts for some time after the initial puncture, have a qualified health care professional take a look at it. Hope this helps!

Pencils do not contain lead- they contain graphite. I know plenty of people who have jabbed themselves and drawn blood and been alright. Just put some peroxide on it and you'll be fine.

No. There is no lead in a lead pencil. It is actually graphite. Put some neosporin on it and forget it.

Modern day pencils are not make of lead. watch for signs of infection. increased redness, swelling, worsening pain. Is your Tetanus shot up to date, booster every 10 years (by the way)?
