OK here is the deal. almost 2years ago i meet my boyfriend online. and this summer i want to see him for the first time He lives in South Carolina and i'm in Minnesota also we are both 20 yrs but my parents dont know about him at all and the only way i can go this summer is if i tell my parents first but i am really scared of how they will react about the whole meeting online thing. But i was wondering whats the best way to tell them with out them totally freaking out on me?

First of all, meeting someone online is actually a good, safe way to meet people, if you are smart and careful. You get to read their profile, see their pictures and write back and forth before meeting them in person. Then you can meet them in a well lit, public place, like a coffee shop. You can meet them as many times as you want in public before agreeing to go on a date and be alone with them. Would your parents rather you say that you met him in a bar or somewhere else? You can meet a psycho anywhere just like you can meet a nice person anywhere.

Tell them that you met someone, and tell them all about him BEFORE you tell them HOW you met. Then pproach them with this perspective on online dating that I've outlined above and I bet they'll have a better outlook. Explain how long you talked online first and how you met in a public place (if you were smart enough to do that) before you actually allowed him to be alone with you. Good luck!

I think girl the best thing for you to do is be honest tell your parents how you feel about it all and what his like and how he makes you feel. They may not like it to start with but with any luck they will be happy that your happy.
Or if you are the sneaky type tell them some big story of how he is a friend of a friend or something...........
You will work it out
have a good summer and dont do anything i wouldnt do
Goodluck

Just tell them the truth. The more truth you tell them the more they will respect and trust you for your choices. You're an adult, and allowed to make you're own choices.
