Hollywood lifestyle proves something about the rest of us?
Uh.... somehow I doubt it. And by the way, someone being famous and frivolous doesn't equate to them being "atheists". I'm sure many are Christians. Lousy Christians, but Christians nonetheless. And don't you DARE go into the "they aren't real Christians" b.s. That "no true Scotsman" logical fallacy don't fly 'round here, buddy.

Donald Trump is not of Hollywood. He is of New York City (even if this year's Apprentice is in Los Angeles).
I'm a native New Yorker. As a New Yorker, an artist, and a highly-educated person--oh, yeah, and as a Christian--it really bothers me when so-called "morality" types bash the Coasts. After all, the so-called Bible Belt also produced the Ku Klux Klan and Jim Crow Laws, didn't it?
That said, you are right that intellect and luxury don't guarantee a happy, fulfilled life. Neither does ignorance or poverty.
"This boy is Ignorance. This girl is Want. Beware them both, but most of all beware this boy." --Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol.

I don't think any Atheist has said celebrities are their poster children. As far as proof of misery from Atheism, here's this quote from a recent brain study on Buddhist monks (Atheists):
The monks who had spent the most years meditating had the highest levels of gamma waves, he added. This "dose response" -- where higher levels of a drug or activity have greater effect than lower levels -- is what researchers look for to assess cause and effect.
In previous studies, mental activities such as focus, memory, learning and consciousness were associated with the kind of enhanced neural coordination found in the monks. The intense gamma waves found in the monks have also been associated with knitting together disparate brain circuits, and so are connected to higher mental activity and heightened awareness, as well.
Davidson's research is consistent with his earlier work that pinpointed the left prefrontal cortex as a brain region associated with happiness and positive thoughts and emotions. Using functional magnetic resonance imagining (fMRI) on the meditating monks, Davidson found that their brain activity -- as measured by the EEG -- was especially high in this area.
Davidson concludes from the research that meditation not only changes the workings of the brain in the short term, but also quite possibly produces permanent changes. That finding, he said, is based on the fact that the monks had considerably more gamma wave activity than the control group even before they started meditating. A researcher at the University of Massachusetts, Jon Kabat-Zinn, came to a similar conclusion several years ago.
We are limited by our own narrow perspectives and can only guess at the inner experience of others.

Actually many who have looked into the high IQ market in particular being miserable have noticed that the low IQs tend to be the reason.
Have you ever had to deal with someone who has a chip on their shoulder because your IQ is literally twice theirs? It's about the most irritating thing I've ever had to deal with.
I never did get how money is supposed to buy happiness, but that could be because I've always enjoyed actually earning what I get.
Seriously though, if you're looking to Hollywood for an example of truth in anything, you're in the wrong place. Most of those folks are so far gone you could probably sell them on pastafarianism.

First, you don't know who in Hollywood is an atheist. Second, you can't judge who is an atheist and who is Christian on the way they act. Third, your idea of an atheist having no morals or being selfish people is off the mark; they just don't have a supersitious belief in the supernatural. You obviously don't know what "defines life" according to the atheists and are truly unenlightened.

You must be a hollywood celebrity in disguise and have learned all of this from first hand experience.
Otherwise, your statement would make you someone who can judge a book by its' cover, knows a person on the inside by his appearance, can tell how mych money someone has by the car he drives and in general, unless you are one of the poor unfortunate hollwood tribe with failed relationship under the belt (as opposed to the rest of us who are sparlking pure and have only successful relationships) I would have to say you are an idiot who merely likes to preach at people from a pulpit that hides you and does not hold you responsible for your irresponsible tripe.

Take a look at Mexico too. Something that many people dont understand is that the Mexican Govt has been very secular since the 1800's. All religion and prayer has been removed from public view. Now take a look at how corrupt and foul that country is.

Very few celebs would profess to be atheists. Angelina Jolie is actually the only one I can name. Most tend to get caught up in cults or religion of some kind. Madonna, Tom Cruise, etc.
And I don't consider hollywood to be a place of high IQs. They all act like they're still in high school.

I have yet to find one person who has fully lived a happy, sane life, without going through the ups and downs that life gives us...no matter what their religious beliefs were. Life is like school...we're here to learn.

The religion of hollywood is money. I live in a city where about 20% of the population believes in God (Boulder, CO) and we have had one murder in the past 30 or 40 years.
