GENTLY tap your brakes, and let off the gas completely. If you are drifting, turn your steering wheel in the direction of the spin, it will cause your car to counter-act the spin. If you are headed for disaster, turn the driver's side of your car away from the collision, so as to at least avoid physical harm. You can keep a sandbag or two in the trunk to weigh the car down to help prevent sliding in the first place.

Stay off the gas, but don't turn off the engine. If you do, steering is gone, not only will you not have power steering, in some the steering column will lock up.

Stay off the brake. If you stand on the brakes, which is what you are inclined to do, the tires will lock and you won't be able to steer.

Steer in the direction you want the front wheels to go. If your rear wheels are sliding left, steer left. If they're sliding right, steer right.

If your rear wheels start sliding the other way as you recover, ease the steering wheel toward that side. You might have to steer left and right a few times to get your vehicle completely under control.

Once you are under control, steer around any potential accidents. If you have to, aim for the snow bank which will stop you. If you have to hit something, pick a tree or bush rather than a person.

Drive with your lights on to be seen, slow down. Best of course is stay home.

My son were given a value tag for off highway driving even as his motor vehicle rolled right into a field to stay away from an twist of destiny. The value tag stood. tell her that scuffling with the cost tag is per chance usless because they're going to say that she became driving too quickly for situations. this can mean going 2 miles an hour in a 40, once you've an twist of destiny.

a thing you can do is to press on the gas and try to pull your self out of the skid and if that not working shift your trans into neutral and press lightly on the brake this will not let the trans from putting power on the wheels but their isn't much you can do Sept hold on.
