On friday we lost our beloved Garfield ( he was 17yrs old), I think now my Goo cat ( who is 14 or 15yrs old)is sick or acting out in grief ( she looks for garfield). I don't know if she is urinating somewhere else that I can't find, but I am only having to clean the liter box out once a day. Shouldn't she be urinating more often?
I was always so use to garf going constantly that I never really noticed how often Goo was using it. She does not act sick, is eating and wanting alot of extra love.

Cats definitely do pine for there beloved friends. Cats stress out by doing such behaviours like your cat, However to be sure i would get goo checked by the vet as a 14 yo can be in a high risk category for kidney disease. Don't panic just measure how much goo is drinking to how much she is urinating, she could have also worked herself up so much she could have given herself cystitis which is easily treated with anti biotics. She may sooking more not only because of her friend dying but she could be in a bit of discomfort. Get her checked

Sorry to hear that you lost Garfield. I can tell you that I feel cats do have feelings. They get attached to the person(s) that take care of them and give them love. They also get attached to other pets that they live with in the home. She sounds like she needs a lot of love and attention right now.

Did they both use the same litter box? If so you may have to really clean the box out good... I would use a mixture of bleach and hot water.

The other thing might be she may have a little UTI (Urinary Tract Infection). So you may want to pick up some food that helps prevent UTI's. The link has some different foods that help with UTI's.

If this not going to the bathroom continues you need to take her to the vet.

I'd get her checked out by a vet ASAP -- she could have a urinary tract infection, which can be fatal if not treated. Is she also sitting sort of humped or scrunched up? That's another symptom.

Sounds like tract infection......You should try these cat treats called "Uri-ease", it'll help with the problem...... but if it doesn't you should take her to the vet....she is old and it could be a kidney infection, bladder, etc. Hope this helped a bit.....good luck
