What happens to all the ghosts when the world ends?

Question

The child of a friend asked me this today. Good question, I told her.

She meant when the world's lifespan ends, millions of years in the future (or maybe sooner, I guess).

What do YOU think, Yahoo Answerers?

OK, I obviously put this question in the wrong category. I would NEVER tell a child that hell was real or that ghosts were demons.

if you arent religious then the world will end in approx 5 billion years when the sun goes supernova, and engulfs the world.

and that is a good question. depends on what you believe ghosts are. if they spirits of energy, what uses energy must regain energy. if they cesae the ability to regain energy then they will loose all energy and cease to exist.

The ghosts will be reunited with their bodies. Then God will judge all humanity, sending each individual to heaven or to hell.

Read 1 Corinthians 15, 1 Thessalonians 4, and Revelation 20.

BTW, I think the Bible supports, and not refutes, the existence of ghosts. Samuel's ghost appears at the end of 1 Samuel. When the resurrected Jesus appears to the apostles and they think he's a ghost, he says, "A ghost does not have flesh and bones as I do." He doesn't say, "There are no such things as ghosts."

"Ghosts" as it were are not departed human souls.

The Scripture teach clearly that Adam was not given a soul, it states "and the man came to be a living soul" -Genesis 2:7

“A living soul [breathing creature].” Heb., lene′phesh chai·yah′; Gr., ψυχὴν ζῶσαν (psy·khen′ zo′san, “living soul”); Lat., a′ni·mam vi·ven′tem

Since the Bible also states that the soul dies it is conclusive that Satan and his Demons are the ones that are propogating this teaching. It goes back a long long way, but that doesn't make it the truth.

It the soul did not die there would be no need for the resurrection of the dead either.

"Now if Christ is being preached that he has been raised up from the dead, how is it some among YOU say there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 If, indeed, there is no resurrection of the dead, neither has Christ been raised up. 14 But if Christ has not been raised up, our preaching is certainly in vain, and our faith is in vain" -1 Corinthians 15:12-14

"For this reason, now that we have left the primary doctrine about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying a foundation again, namely, repentance from dead works, and faith toward God, 2 the teaching on baptisms and the laying on of the hands, the resurrection of the dead and everlasting judgment. 3 And this we will do, if God indeed permit" -Hebrews 6:1-3

"For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun." - Ecclesiasties 9:5-6

"Look! All the souls—to me they belong. As the soul of the father so likewise the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul that is sinning—it itself will die." Ezekiel 18:4

So, how do you think the Demons are doing speading this teaching of the Soul not dying??
