I am so sick right now with the flu, a nasty virus or something I dunno.... I have a VERY ACTIVE 3 yr old and 18 month old on top of it. My husbands boss is pure evil, I'm running a fever and barely can move but he wont let my husband come home from work until normal time (10 pm at night!!!) to help with the kids and possibly take care of me. I need NEW CREATIVE activities I can keep my kids busy with while I lay on the couch and basically just supervise since I'm so sick. They are tired of movies, tv, puzzles and books since we've done those all day already. I'm getting desperate, it hurts just to move (anyone whose had a bad case of the flu knows what I mean) and they are climbing the walls with boredom. Need Ideas help!!!!!!

do you have a great big box? Get it out, give the kids washable markers or crayons and have them go to town. How about blocks. See which one can build a high tower. Do you have flash cards? The 3yo can held the 18mo. learn something. How about a bath with colored soap. You can just take your blankie in the bathroom and sit on the floor while they splash around a while. I hope you feel better soon.

Your sister's are taking advantage of you. They care more about what they are doing then anything else. I have the same thing, but my Dad 80 lives with me. And any time I have asked for help maybe with the cost of his med etc they were to bust to help. I would sit your sister;s down and tell them hay I have been helping but with my kids and my responsibilities I am only getting 3 hours of sleep a night. You two need to do more. Write up a schedule that divides the work load.

coloring, childrens movies, toys that take a lot of attention to play with and boxes are a really good idea. Kids tend to really like boxes. I hope this helps and you start feeling better.

Maybe your husband can buy some new puzzles, books, rent some videos. Etc.

Maybe some relatives can come help you out?

Try a different schedule. Have them help mommy by cleaning up. Have the three year old read to the baby.

Boxes boxes boxes.

My son loved boxes at that age.
Pretending he was driving.
Making a castle.
Give them a sheet and make a tent.

Imagination!
