i don't know ANY American Military person (and i know quite a few) who woudl EVER ascribe to that way of thinking -- that is NOT what they are trained for or stand for!

The ACLU is a crackpot group that makes every possible effort to undermine the values and rights of the US citizen. For the most part they come just short of being traitors in mind if not always in action.
That's one group I will always oppose because I think they are a major part of the decline of civilized behavoir in this country (the US)

I think the ACLU person was being sarcastic, trying to imply that America imposes its will by force without regard for human rights. Of course, the ACLU is just fine with kidnapping a woman who works with relief agencies and cutting off her head on al-Jizzeera - at least, they didn't complain about it, so we have to assume they approve.
In other words, who gives a **** what the ACLU thinks?
