Willingness to work hard, respect for elders, respect for knowledge and wisdom, precision, great cuisine, and on the other hand, a very hip kind of cool -- a cutting edge, post-modern "elan." From non-Christians I notice a cold capacity for cruelty that is a bit scary. You said skills. I think the attitude is the key to everything. Chinese can do everything, here. It's the attitude they bring that makes them priceless in America and the world at large.

they brought sake, and other food skills, some say they started the better way of washing clothes(washboard). They also brought the skill or working fabrics like silk.
