Muslims are pretty much the target of a lot of derision right now for obvious reasons. And when they say they're proud of it, it's a sign of insecurity. But it's the same for anybody or any group who feels ostracized. I'm gay, and I've often hopped on the "loud and proud" bandwagon, but it doesn't necessarily mean that I am proud, it's more along the lines of attempting to validate myself.

When I say, "I am a Muslim and proud of it", I mean to tell others that while they think Muslims are oppressed into the religion, I am proud of what I am and not afraid to speak out about it. That doesn't mean you have to believe what I believe; I am simply proud of what I am, as an Athiest might be proud of what they are, Hindu, Christian, etc. Hope this helped. :)

Cause some people think that Muslims these days are bullied...
I know Muslims are oppressed in many places............
So other people think that Muslim should always be scared, and hiding.............
But MOST of the Muslims are not and they proud to say they are Muslims..............
Same Like me.....I am proud to be MUSLIM :)

I know that a lot of people on here hate a person only for the label. Some think a muslim should be ashamed of themselves. Most aren't. They're proud, and they're not ashamed to say it. What's to be ashamed of? A man being forced to support his wife and children while non muslim men "wham, bam, thank you maam?". I'm a muslim woman, and yes, I am proud of it. It's the most wonderful thing TO be proud of.

A lot of people do hate islam and it shows in the questions and answers here. islam is so degraded in the eyes of everyone who doesn't understand it and it makes me want to tell them what islam is and how it makes me feel...i am proud because it is a religion to be proud of. its not what people portray it as

Because it makes us proud to write that we're Muslims because we're following ALLAH'S religion.

Everyone could be proud of their religion, but not proud of their extremists (whatever religion).
