Many hotels allow them now, just check with the one(s) you are planning on staying at. I flew Frontier & Continental in November and there was a lady sitting next to me with a small dog in a crate (it has to fit under the seat).

Motel Super 8 accepts all animals no questions, at least in Canada. The majority of motels/hotels accept animals under 20 lbs that are house trained.

there are alot of hotels that allow dogs just look up the name of a hotel and it will tell you if dogs are allowed you'll be surprised!

I think Best Western allows it because i have seen their rules before and it said small dogs are allowed.

You have to check with specific airlines regarding their pet policy. I recommend continental if the dog can't go under the seat.
