I am after a digital camera, and I was thinking along the lines of:
Nikon Coolpix S9, for slimness, quality and money saver. Can anybody say otherwise? and reccommend a digital camera.
Willing to spend up to £130.00. Thanks

Just purchased this today, only £130 and 10.1 meg! Excellent quality, I didn't want to spend much on a camera also, but when I seen this I bought it right away.

It's great!

Ok I am not good at converstation of pounds to US dollars but Ill just estamiate its about 2Xs more than a US dollar. So Id say its about 260 in US currency.

If you really want slim camera, you will be giving up picture quality, just remember that. I own the Canon SD700IS but its a little too far out of your price range. It takes excellent pictures and I couldnt be more happier. The Canon SD 600 also does take good pictures too and its smaller than the SD700.

For the best picture quality at that price range I would recommond the Canon A630 or A640. They take excellent pictures even in low light. I own the A630 and it takes really nice pictures. Just remember you will be giving up slimness for picture quality.

Canons you can never go wrong. Nikon's are iffy unless their an SLR which they make superb cameras.

To the guy below me, I would not recommond Fujis because they us xD memory not SD cards. This will force you to use Fuji cameras if you decide to get a different camera.

That is an excellent point and shoot camera. 8.2 MP is very good for a $150.00 dollar camera. I am a professional photographer and my best DSLR only has 10.1 MP. As long as you are just a casual photographer who needs something compact and easy to use, that is a perfect camera.

I'd suggest a Panasonic Lumix LZ5 or LZ3, but they're both still outside of your price range (MSRP £190 and £160 respectively). I think the LZ1 is out of production by now, and I haven't really looked into the lines that would cost less than the LZ3. Still, Panasonic has the best image stabilization on the market, so it's worth looking into their products to see if there's something that'll work for you. You will, however, probably be limited to tiny cameras that use expensive proprietary batteries where it's best to get one that uses AA or AAA batteries so you can swap them on the fly.

Trying checking out the Panasonic Lumix line of cameras. They're loaded with stuff. Great optical zoom, image stablization, MP, and a great Leica lens.
