When you answer a religious question do you answer to spread or explain your faith or belief? To answer like a poll is being taken and you opinion counts? To be funny? To be argumentative? To get people thinking? How do your answers accomplish what you are trying to do?

I am not trying to discourage people from answering questions or critisizing methods I am just trying to get an idea of where people are coming from. Thanks

To try to explain. I try to get people thinking, it seems alot of people on here have very close minded and biased views, regardless of how "open minded" and "tolerant" they are of others. I try to invoke thought into thoughtless people who come on here trying to start a fight or ask a ignorant question with no intent on actually listening to answers that differ from their current opinions and beliefs.

A little bit of all the above at times. Mainly I see people trying to force their beliefs on others through "questions" which in a nutshell, looks like: "Follow the one true path or burn in hell!"

I usually answer them to explain how pointless it is. I also answer about my own faith (which I didn't do in detail yet) because if everyone else is free to answer their faith, why not me? Even if they disagree with it, that's not my problem.

one million. Hope/Hopeless - Hope that we as Americans maintain the dream alive, one that's from our Constitution, no longer from the Old Book of Jewish Fairy Tales. It's best hopless in the event you permit the Christians maintain the energy base. two. Love/Loveless - It's a many incredible factor. To be loveless, that is another time a Christian notion. three. Religion/Beliefs - One character's notion that his ideals are higher, and every person else has to comply with or get struck down by way of mentioned God(s). four. With our gays being discriminated in opposition to overtly by way of so much Christians, it is time to repair that secular, state challenge and maintain church problems within the church, and make all Americans loose. nine. I try to answer the question as honestly as I can, typically without any hidden agenda (I say typically, because some questions are such that you can't help but be sarcastic or push some issue). Additionally, I typically answer like my opinion counts, otherwise I wouldn't waste my time (although I'm sure there are plenty of people just wasting time).

Interesting question. I answer to spread my faith and share some really good points that have gotten me thinking in the past. Basically, to share what I love. :)

God tells us in His word that we are to know truth, live truth and speak it to all who will hear it, to lead others to Him. When we Christians answers questions, we are only to speak the truth, to lead others to God. God loves us as we are, but He loves us too much to live us in our messed up conditions of bullonie, wordly thinking. That is our goal. That is what we are trying to accomplish. Some will hear, some will reject. But, ppl walking this earth with Jesus, many even rejected Him then. Its only our job to live it, speak it , and let the Holy Spirit do the convicting. Each person has a choice whether they hear God or reject Him. God leaves choice, and so must we.

I post in my pov to give people something to think about if they're questioning is based on looking for other ideas... or in case they're curious what Buddhists think. I easily accept that not everyone agrees and many don't like my opinion and they're welcome to ignore me if they don't, which doesn't bother me one iota... I just toss it out and whoever's interested can grab on or not. I learned by listening to others debate their faiths... and share their opinions and so I do the same for others, while respecting them.

Sometimes I do it to be funny or show irony. Other times I try to dispel misinformation that people spread. Still others, I just give the right answer because I know it.

Well for me it would be to explain my faith in Christianity. Jesus is not as bad as what some people think, but Jesus is love and He came so that we may not perish but have everlasting life. He loves all of us and He does not want us to perish. So that is why I answer, because I do not want to see people perish because of lack of knowledge about Jesus.

For various reasons.

The type of question that draws me in right away is the one with faulty assumptions, like "Everyone knows God hates the Chinese, so why are there so many of them?" or "Why does Satan use DNA to trick people into believing in evolution?" or whatever. These people are obviously standing waist-deep in ignorance and misinformation that makes it impossible for them to even ask an intelligent question.
