I am interested in purchasing a house built in 1914. I know the house and I am pretty sure the electrical has not had any work on it since it was installed. A ballpark figure would help us decide to go to the next step in decision making...money.

It depends on what state you're in. I know here in California, you're probably looking at $3000-$6000 also depending on the size of the house.

We have 900 sq ft in house of same age.

We gutted every single thing, no evidence left behind, including old meter. Replaced and upgraded it all for $5000. This included boxes, wires, breaker box/switches, labor, and additional outdoor outlets, and safety upgrades.

I suppose that would depend on how big the house is as well.
