I let my friend use my credit card to charge something, he said he was going to pay it right back in a couple of days, or he could put the limit right back on my Visa with his Visa. But since I let him use it, I haven't yet heard from him. Is there a way to take action for this? I really need my money back, I trusted this person, but now it shows I probably shouldn't have.

Well.....this is an expensive lesson. About the only recourse you have is to sue the person in small claims court for the money.

Been there...done that, I understand how hurt you must feel being betrayed by a friend. When it happened to me, I initiated court proceedings, but then realised I would probably never see the money again anyway as he didn't have a job, so I stopped the proceedings, paid the $3,500.00 myself and chalked it up to experience. An expensive lesson learnt.

I hope you got your card back! Otherwise, he could still be racking up charges! I would check with your bank for activity, and if he's still charging, have them put a stop on your card. So far as getting your money back, you may have to take him to small claims.

You can bring an action in small claims court. Good luck proving it. If he's this sleazy, he'll undoubtedly be willing to lie to the judge too.

I agree, an expensive lesson. Don't ever let someone else use your credit card. I'd be knocking on his door!!!!

I sure hope you have learn your lesson from this! Cause you will be paying it your self. See if you can take him to court. But its going to cost.

get them to sign an agreement or take them to court, there aren't that many options for someone who won't pay

You should call your friend and tell him/her that you need your money back.

Otherwise there is nothing much you can do. Sorry!
