I don't mean the instant money thing. Also how much do they charge you? Is it a certain percentage?

I would appreciate it if you only answer if you have an answer and not an opinion. Thanks in advance!

If you don't do the instant money, you will get your refund in 8-15 days if you choose to have it deposited directly into your bank account. Returns filed electronically and accepted by Thursday of one week are deposited on Friday of the following week.

H & R Block typically charges by the form. This can sometimes make it quite expensive for the work involved. Not only should you get quotes from Block but you might also try some CPA firms - just make sure they specialize in tax. CPA's generally charge by the hour, so if your paperwork is in good order you may find it to be quite cost-effective.

If you feel up to it, you can do your return for free or at very low cost at www.irs.gov. Just click on the e-file icon on the left hand side.

Edit: Ben B is incorrect. H & R Block have numerous EAs available to represent clients at an audit.

It amazes me, how many people will go to H&R, Hewit Jackson etc. for taxes that only require a 1040 ez. On top of that, these places aparently charge like $150. So to get your refund quicker you are ready to spend like $200. For that much expense I would wait a few weeks. Oh and they cannot represent you in an IRS audit. Only a CPA, Lawyer or EA, is permitted by the IRS to do that.

You don't get a refund from H & R Block at all. They just file your return with the IRS. Your refund, assuming you get one, comes from the IRS. The link below is the answer the IRS gives to your question.
