I am a teacher of mathematcs in California, USA. The only recognizable difference between the 2 is that the 84 + (or 84 Silver edition) is that the 84 has more memory, is faster, and comes with a USB chord to plug into your computer to download programs for educational use, and even games) I believe you can purchase a USB chord for the 83+ and download programs as well though.

I must say, I own a 83+ and it does everything I need it to do and more. I personally don't think the speed and extra memory is that necessary (especially for the mark up in price.) If you love mathematics and know you will be heavily using the online resources, you are going to go on to higher college mathematics (you plan to go into a math related field), and you have the money, then go for the 84+.

I am not familiar with the TI-84, however the TI-83+ is a wonderful calculator that will do almost anything you can think of. I would look at Amazon.com or maybe Ebay.com to see if you can find a deal. I would go with whichever of the two is cheaper, since the difference in features is likely small and insignificant for what you wish to do with it.

okay first of all, sport, its GraphING not graphIC. just clearing that up i think i may know the answer to your problem (no ****, why the hell else would i reply) well, when you did the whole (-) thing did you use the minus sign that is on the left of the enter button or the minus sign that was above the plus button? use the button that litterally looks like this: (-) dont use the button thats just a plain old minus sign if this doesnt work get a new calculator OR be completely unpragmatic by doing 4 minus 5 which will give you -1 once you have this, multiply ur answer times whatever negative number you need in other ***...i mean words: 4-5=-1 (ans)15= -15 dont do that, its impractical and downright idiotic. but it IS an option
