Any file sharing site you use is bound to be infected in the first place. You must keep in mind that the files you download come from other strangers PCs and not from a site! All these sites do is connect you to someone elses PC! Do so at your own risk but dont scratch yer bum later wondering why your PC isnt workin! You want malware free music, get yourself some ripping software and start ripping cds or record tunes from a radio station, edit them and rip them! Borrow friends CDS, but DONT use file sharing sites! I will gaurantee that you will be spending far more gettin your PC back to par than you would have if you just bought the music!

No you didnt screw up. Uninstall limewire, then reinstall. Go to their website and read their install FAQ.

As for the other programs.... There's DC++, BitTorrent, and Newsgroups.

Yes they are complicated.
No, I will not tell you how to use them, but there is enough info on their respecting websites to get you set up and running. As long as you are patient and relentless, you will get what you want eventually.

Oh, and to make this legit - downloading copywrited music for free and keeping it is a criminal offence.
