Fainting, which is also called syncope, can be related to many different things. More than one thing may be the cause of fainting. Sometimes a specific cause for fainting can't be found.
Fainting can happen when not enough oxygen flows through your blood and into your brain. You lose consciousness, or "pass out," for a very brief time -- just a few seconds or minutes.
A sudden drop in your blood pressure can cause you to faint. Sometimes your heart rate and blood vessels can't react fast enough when your body's need for oxygen changes. This is very common among older people. It can happen when:
You stand up fast.
You work or play hard, especially if it's very hot.
You begin to breathe too fast (called hyperventilating).
You get very upset. Being upset can affect the nerves that control your blood pressure.
You're taking medicine for high blood pressure.
Coughing, urinating and stretching can also get in the way of the flow of oxygen to the brain and may be a cause of fainting. If you faint once during one of these activities, it's probably not something to worry about. But if it happens more than once, you should tell your doctor about it.
If you faint when you turn your head to the side, the bones in your neck may be pinching on one of the blood vessels that leads to your brain. If this happens to you, be sure to tell your doctor about it.
A drop in your blood sugar may also cause you to faint. This can happen if you have diabetes, but it may also happen if you don't eat for a long time.
More serious causes of fainting include seizures and problems with the heart or with the blood vessels leading to the brain.

I think there is a psychic/spiritual reason. On the first day there was a blackout, I felt like there was an energy field in the sky above Sydney. Later I heard that their had been a blackout. (I didn't know it at the time) I don't know what it was or why it was there, but I think some other force is trying to tell us something. I am not talking about aliens and I don't think it is a bad thing. I only feel it is there but I don't know what the reason is.

I have had experiences with blacking out, all of a sudden, for seemingly no reason. I have collapsed on a bus and been taken to hospital. The reason? Stress, pure and simple.
I thought to myself, what on earth am I so stressed out about that would cause this? I had a good job, a boyfriend, my own place, life was good! I couldn't figure it out.
Until finally I went to my doctor. She ran blood tests and asked me all kinds of questions, made my do all sorts of weird stretches and stuff, and then she asked me about my life. She asked me if I had gone through something recently or if someone I know had something happen. And I started bawling my eyes out. My best friends' mom had passed away suddenly right before all this blackout stuff started, but I never associated the two. As soon as I was asked how I felt about it.... wham. The dam broke, the tears flowed, I told the story, and it was like a weight literally lifted off me. I had been blacking out because I had emotion and stress wrapped up in me that I wouldn't let loose. I hadn't let it loose because everyone was grieving and I didn't want to burden everyone.
If you need to talk to someone about something, do it.

the brain weighs about 3 pounds in an adult. is richley supplied with blood vessels, and requires considerable amount of oxygen. there is a section of the brain that has gray matter. an controls the nerve cells. these cells carry oxygen to the brain. when u blackout, its not getting enough oxygen. somethink could be blocking the oxygen, or it could be a psychological problem and can be caused by stress that ur not aware of. but first have a neurological exam to rule out any other causes.dont be scared, tho, thousands of people have blackouts every day and, thats stress.god bless

well i dont think that anything is wrong with you... there are a couple or reason why you could get blackouts... maybe theres something like nail polish or something that you smell and you blackout... or maybe your not eating right... I get blackouts if i have been sitting down for a long time and i stand up suddenly... i blackout, sometimes its bad, sometimes its not... my legs kinda get weak though

Are you eating enough? that could be one reason.
Also, perhaps you have some sort of condition, such as anemia.. which is lack of iron in your blood. You might want to get yourself checked out by the doctor if you're worried. Good luck!

It could be because of a lack of iron in your blood. Something like that any way.
Someone I know had this but their doctor checked them out and she has to have food with iron or it might be some kind of tablet, i'm unsure.

A sudden drop in your blood pressure or blood sugar levels may cause you to black out. Get it checked with your doctor.
