I asked a similar question, and was shocked to find that most self-proclaimed Christians would support the execution as the fulfillment of prophecy, God's will, etc. If they had the opportunity, many would go back to Calvary, witness the event with cameras, etc. I suspect this is because they really don't understand the gruesome nature of death. Or, they are truly wicked.

But, then again, Lenny asked a lot more questions than he answered.

We, since you asked, no. Why? Because the ornamentation was not adopted until much later.

But, if he were to have come in modern times it still would have to have been in Israel and that is good because they still beat the snot out of you before you are executed and there was one verse that references not one bone would be broken and Isaiah 53:5 says "by his stripes we are healed." So a gruesome death would still have to be done. I think hanging would suffice and it would fulfill another prophecy about being "lifted up," and he could speak to the crowd before being dropped. I am also sure it would be televised with no commercial interruptions. Though I cannot guess who the sponsers would be. Perhaps Nike?

Were I able to go back in time I would choose Birth not death, but even in Death I could not stop it merely add my voice to the few who said no. And yes it is prophecy that he was to die.

He would have been crucified on the cross because the Bible prophesied in Psalm 22:13-18:

'For dogs encompass me; a company of evildoers encircles me;
they have pierced my hands and feet -- I can count all my bones -- they stare and gloat over me; they divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots."

This is exactly what happened centuries later during the crucifixion of Christ. But the interesting part is that the Psalm says "they have pierced my hands and feet"... and this was written some 800 years before crucifixion was ever used!

So there is no answer to your question, because Jesus was destined to be crucified. Let's not do the "if" qustions... let's focus on what really happened.

inspite of the reality that i've got self belief in Jesus i think of this could be an somewhat solid question. i'm uncertain if human beings could positioned on syringes around thier necks yet, if he exchange into alive as we communicate and performed i could think of there could be a large social, national and worldwide outcry! seem at religous and political leaders as we communicate whilst they are performed there is aot of blended reactions yet definately upcry the two way human beings do not study from historys errors those issues nonetheless take place ( execution ) purely in distinctive methods "LOVE" , human beings is the only answer, specific love

If Jesus were executed in modern times, too many so-called Christians would be the ones taunting him and pulling the switch.

It would still by the cross to fulfill scripture.

(Galatians 3:13) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

More likely than not, if Jesus was real (he's not), he would have been executed without anyone knowing it.

Koresh, Jim Jones and Charles Manson could have been the second coming.

We have made it to modern times because of CHRIST's death for us.

Jesus is the truth, the way and the life!
