You didn't mention how tall you are, but at 99 lbs you'd have to be really, really short (as in, somewhere in the under 4-foot range) to be overweight. When people think they're fat when they're actually not, it's called body dismorphic disorder, and is really common, especially among teenage girls. Body dismorphic disorder is often an underlying factor in eating disorders, so you should get help now, before it develops into something more dangerous, or even life treatening.

Anorexia isn't a diet. You don't "go anorexic" to lose weight. People die from anorexia every day. It's a serious, life-treatening illness, and not something you should decide to develop on purpose. Deciding to "go anorexic" is analogous to drinking radioactive waste every day to try to get cancer. Tell your parents how you feel, and have them take you to a therapist so you can address the issue now, before it gets any more out of control than it already is.

I am 5'1" and weight 118 lbs i excercise regularly and eat healthy I look and feel great. Im happy with my self and I have a satisfying life. You are 99 pounds you are skinny. You are fine you should eat healthy and excercise regularly if you dont want to gain weight the best thing is to run daily at least 30 minutes.

Because everyone today seems concerned about weight, and because most people diet at least once in a while, it is hard to tell what is normal behavior and what is a problem that may escalate to threaten life and happiness. No one person will show all of the characteristics listed below, but people with eating disorders will manifest several.

In addition, the early stages of an eating disorder can be difficult to define. When does normative dieting become a health and emotional problem? When does weight loss cross the line and become pathological? The sooner an eating disorder is treated, the easier it is for the person to recover. If warning signs and symptoms are allowed to persist until they become entrenched behaviors, the person may struggle for years before s/he can turn the problem around.

Anorexia is an illness that affects most of us do not do it. stay healhty what is beauty to you might be horrific to others but really what matters is you not everyones opinion. be happy with who you are and others will see how beautiful you are.

There ain't no "GOING ANOREXIC". I suffered from it for a year-- yes, SUFFERED. it was the worst year of my life. I thank God that He rescued me out of it. Learn to love your body. If you starve yourself, even ONE meal, it is GUARANTEED by scientific studies that you will always gain wayyy more weight back, for example now you are 99 lbs, if you lose even a couple pounds by starving or "going anorexic", in a few months you'll actually end up like 120lb, because you've ruined your metabolism. Don't do it. Eat more and healthily!
