Me and my friends are making a movie. The script is pretty much done, but I can't seem to get all 4 of them around for a meeting.

Back in August, we were meeting up bi-weekly for updates and brainstorming. Now I'm lucky if it's monthly.

I'm getting so sick of them cancelling at the last minute because 'something else came up'. I realise that, when it comes to arranging dates, I sometimes don't get there fast enough, but when I DO set a date, I don't want the menality of;-

'Oh, it's only William, he won't care...'

Well, William DOES care! Either commit yourself or don't bother...

Hopefully, when I have a word with them, it won't sound like above.

can you discuss any of this with e-mail if you are all too busy to meet in person? although i know a good face to face brainstorming session is sometimes the best way to go

It sounds like your friends aren't as interested in the movie as you are. Perhaps it's time to talk with each one and find out whether he/she'd like to have any continued participation on the movie at all. Then you'll know how to proceed. I'm sorry this has happened, but it's good practice for future situations. It's hard when you get friends mixed up with business.

How about....

I'd like us to meet on (day / time) for a final meeting as the script is near completion. Failure to attend and/or non-response to this (email/voicemail/message) will be your confirmation that you wish to pull out from this project/initiative and absolve all rights to it.

* Don't let people's lack of action/interest hold you back for opportunties. Good luck!

You have to be creative and flexible in these types of situations. Try put together a net/video meeting with them or even a meeting via instant messaging.
