The symptoms of uncomplicated UTI's are pain or burning on urination, urge to urinate, increased urination frequency, nocturia, and suprapubic heaviness( the lower stomach pain). Prescription antibiotics are used to cure urinary tract infections and uncomplicated UTI's are simple for physicians to treat. If left untreated, urinary tract infections can spread, become very serious and may require hospitalization. Drinking extra cranberry juice may be protective by possibly inhibiting unwanted bacterial growth.

A. Frequent urination (frequency) can be a symptom of a urinary tract infection.

Other urinary tract infection symptoms can include one or more of the following:

painful, burning urination (dysuria)
cloudy or bloody urine, which may have an odor
fever
feeling like you have to go all of a sudden (urgency)
irritability
having accidents
back pain or lower abdominal pain
nausea and/or vomiting

They now sell a pill you can buy from your local drugstore that will cure that infection in about a week. UTI is one reason your stomache could hurt but there are many more. Make a list to rule anything else out. Call a doctor with the symptoms most can help you decide if it's serious enough to come in.

Pain right above your pubic bone, frequency (have to go a lot), urgency (when you have to go you HAVE TO GO), pain with urination (burning, especially right at the end of the flow). You can also have a fever and generally feel pretty crappy. Sometimes there is visible blood in the urine. If you cant get to the doctor right away, drink lots of fluids, and cranberry juice can help (just make sure it is 100% juice and not just cranberry flavored). You should get antibiotics.
