I use the spray and don't have any problems with it. I've tried a VO5 gel and it made my hair really heavy and sticky. The tresemme spray doesn't leave any residue at all.

The Tressemme heat protection spray in the black bottle smells good and works really well, never sticky or greasy.

All of these things are hype. All of them. Heat damages hair. Period. There is nothing you can to do prevent heat damage to hair except to avoid using heat. The only thing these products do is put a coating over the hair so that you THINK it is sleek, shiny and smooth. Underneath, it's still damaged.
