It is a dominance issue. Females will "hump" objects to feel like they are dominating it and are higher in the pack than it. Somtimes getting it spayed will fix the issue, but some dogs will keep doing it anyways. It is more of a behavioural issue and you would need to reinforce the dog when she isn't humping it. When you see her start to do it, call her over to you and give her a treat or praise her. Good Luck :)

My FEMALE dog does that to my sister. Tell the dog not to do that every time that happens or just move the teddy bear. If it is to close to the spot the dog calls it's own it will take advantage to everything around it. I have also heard that girl dogs humping other things is not for the reasons everyone thinks but as a sign of dominance toward you or some one who lives with you but in this case the teddy bear. Good Luck!

Get her spayed. That may help the issue. Other than that, take the bear away when she's in another room.

It sounds like your dog is possibly resource guarding. Is this her favorite toy? I'd suggest contacting a local dog trainer or behaviorist who is experienced in handling guarding cases and purchasing (and reading) the book Mine! by Jean Donaldson.

There isn't anything wrong with what she is doing. It is not necessarily about sex but more likely about dominance. It's just that she is dominate over a toy and there is nothing wrong with that. A little embarrassing sometimes maybe, but very normal.
