Ok so I have really bad credit and last week I finished paying most of the bills I owe. I've decided to go to school and I did my fafsa and got denied ... I did get a stafford loan, but that is not going to cover the whole tuition and living expenses and so on . Now what should I do? where can I apply? I have heard about sally mae but won't they run my credit?

honestly, the only way it sounds like you will be able to get any private loans with bad credit is to have a co-signer. I know it is difficult to have someone take on that responsibility, but it sounds as if you are trying to change your life and perhaps, you can convince a parent or relative to believe in you and co-sign on your loan. This would also be a great way to start to build up your credit again. Good Luck and check out http://www.thinkfinancial.com for an alternative to sallie mae. I find that Sallie Mae is difficult to work with because of the size of them and the amount of borrowers they have. Check some smaller companies and compare rates.

You were not denied for financial aid you just were not eligible for the Pell grant, and yeah unfortunately loans don't always cover the costs. Any additional loans will be credit based so you may need a co-signer, speak with your financial aid office and see if they recommend one.
