Go to a golf shop and hit a few balls with both. Phil Mickelson is right handed but golfs left handed.

check what hand you eat and write with.
how do you swing a bat?
if you are normally right handed then get right-handed clubs.
if you go both ways, you might want to rent first to see which
you prefer.

Hold a club (any) and see which hand is lower... right hand is lower then you are right handed or left hand low you are left handed. Whichever feels natural.
