I feel its because people are going back to basics and learning the art of how to cook once again. For years Supermarkets have been telling us that one can buy it just "like mamma used to make". Thats nonsense - Fresh is only fresh, when you have made it yourself. Take so called Supermarket "Fresh Pasta". It was probably made 1 week before it reached the supermarket, then it appears on the shelf until sold: - say 3 - 4 days. You may not use it straight away. Novelty foods (as you call them) are back 'cause people want to be able to choose and experiment with food and flavour!!! xxx

novelty foods such as?

i think you mean foods that are more than foods like the lollipops that have the mirrors connected to it and stuff like that.. people want more bang for their buck plus being able to do more things with 1 thing is more entertaining.

Its becasue food is so processed that its got no taste. so people need to be distracted while they eat.

I think they would be far better off spending half the money on real raw food and cooking thier own.
