Tylenol for the discomfort. Otherwise, leave it alone. No intervention is necessary other than to be careful not to bang into things or people while it's healing. The old practice of wrapping tape around the chest to immobilize a fractured or cracked rib served only to make it more difficult for the patient to breathe, leading in many cases to life-threatening pneumonia.

You need to get x-rays to make sure, no other organ has been affected by the fractured rib. Unfortunately, there is no treatment for cracked ribs! However, heavy lifting should be avoided.

Time and patience is about all. And over the counter pain relievers. As long as the rib has not punctured a lung and you will know if it has, it will heal on it own. I fell through a hay loft and broke 3 of mine when I was a kid and believe me it hurt like hell and our family doctor said, well suck it up and live with it or go out there and let one of them bulls kick the crap out of you and then you will forget about it. So hon, all I can say, is just try to take it easy for a while, it will get better. Happy trails.

Pain relief and rest.
Usually there is nothing specific to be done and the rib will heal itself.
Make sure you're getting enough calcium and a bit of sunlight.

The only treatment is time. It will heal on its own. If it is only one. If you have more than say three you may need a body cast. It may take about three or four weeks to feel better. Take the meds you Dr gives you they will help.

This happened to me a few years ago.
I received some major pain killers with refills and was sent to lay in bed for a couple of months.
The pain was so bad. i cannot imagine how people go about their daily business with this.
Make sure you have a X-ray Dx.
Good luck.

Strapping is an old procedure, but it might decrease the vital capacity, depending on the nature of fracture and complications surgical removal is advisable.

The same as for broken toes, NADA, nothing, none of the above. You can wrap an ace bandage around yourself for comfort, but that's it. Take something over the counter for pain. Sorry....Godloveya.
