I haven't been feeling 100% for a few weeks. I was tested for mono and checked to see if I was anemic. The tests came back negative. Today however, I felt really achey, exhausted (I've been tired for the past little while but much more so today), sore throat, horrible headaches, chest cough and I was cold most of the day when nobody else was. Overall I felt very very ill. I was wondering if I could have the flu. All my doctor said was that I didn't have a bacterial infection. The flu isn't bacterial, right? I feel horrible!

everything you said happened to me when i had strep throat. might want to get that checked. and your doctor may be wrong. a day before i had to get a shot for strep i went to the emergency room and they said i didn't have strep. even though i had blisters in the back of my throat. so...like i said, might want to get that checked. i hope you start feeling better though, being sick and not 100% is horrible.

Definitely could be the flu, that would explain it! Flu is viral, not bacterial, so this sounds like it!

Sounds like a virus of some sort. Lots of rest, lots of fluids, tylenol for aches and fever.
