Let me just clarify:
In Canada, not matter what I do, will I only spend a maximum 25 years in prison?
Robert Pickton for example....how many women did he murder...will he only get a maximum of 25 years?

Well if you murdered two people...the time you will serve will probably be not long enough in my opinion.

I hope you like prison...although in the U.S. it's a little different. Each count of murder is seperate...so if someone kills two people, it's 2 counts of murder, if killing 3, then three counts. Each state has a different structure, but where I live it's life for each count, which would be two consectuive 'life' sentences... for the books. If they would reduce it to 25 years, then the sentences are either judged as consecutive or concurrent, depending on the crime and the case involved. We also have, when cases drag on in the courts an Ex post facto limitation, with restrictions on time and the changing of the laws. But I don't know Canadian law. Totally different than US.

You really want to know the difference between consecutive and concurrent.

consecutive : Lets use Robbery and auto theft - the bad guy will do the court's designated time for the robbery and then do the time for the auto theft. Her he might do 5 to 10 years

concurrent : the bad guy would do the time for both charges together not separate. here he would do 3 - 5 years

In a consecutive life sentence he would do 25 plus 25 or life plus life.

Does this help you

You will probaly never get out. Consecutive means in a row ( as opposed to concurrent where they are served at the same time) so, when you are done doing 25 plus years and if you are paroled, you will immediately start your second (consecutive) life sentence.

A life sentence in most states is 25 yearsbut I wouldn't go to killing 2 people 2 test the system.

Concurrent sentence means the sentences run together...If the sentence was 25 to life then it is possible to get out in 25. Consecutive means that after one sentence is finished the other kicks in. It appears that the murderer will not out live his/her sentence.

If you get life without possibility of parole then you are there till you kick the bucket. If you get the possibility of parole, then you are looking at serving around 25 years for each life sentence.

Depends if you get life without parole or 25 - life. Also, if you get 25 - life are they concurrent of consecutive.
