In response...I'm not trying to be the best, I just like being different. I have 5 relatives and a friend getting married within a few months of each other and I think each bride should have their special day unique instead of blending in and being bored by the last one.

Oh my gosh, of course! Every wedding should be unique and special. Been to many I have to say. Starters off. Whats your theme? Try to find something that is special to the two of you, or maybe related to how you met. Italy has been a popular theme, or parisian gardens in spring. Something to set it off and to give a "wow, this truly is special". As well, serve your champagnes along with themed apps, cheeses maybe or strawberries. The simpliest things will result is a beautiful outcome. Your flower arrangements are key as well, allow them to fill the room, but not in an uncomfortable way. Colour is so important as well. Have everything complement eachother. And truly do enjoy the day. It is most important that you have the time of your life, although I know you want to have a great wedding for everyone else. Any more questions holler at me with some info on your plans so I can be more specific.

Broadcast it on the internet for your friends and family that can't make it.

Include your pets.

Put the invitation on a scroll and then in a bottle and mail it to the invitees.

Play modern songs- like the Beatles "All you Need is Love" for the wedding music, rather than the classical standards.

Serve sushi or asian food at the reception (unless you're asian- then that is probably pretty normal anyway).

For cool, unique, photos.... why don't you see if your wedding photographer will let student photogs also take pics? Sometimes serious-amateur and student photos turn out really neat and they will usually do it free for the resume/credit/experience of shooting a wedding-- but I totally reccommend getting the pics taken by a professional who produces consistently good work.

Those are just the first ideas I had...

Have a sunrise wedding. Have your guests at your ceremony site (outdoors preferably) early enough to see the sun come up. Serve them breakfast at the reception. Substitute doughnuts for a cake.

Have an "Under the Sea" theme wedding. Give goldfish (or some other fish) as favors, perhaps in a tiny glass bowl. Have your bridesmaids wear turquoise and carry tropical flowers. Use seashells as decorations and ask that your guests leave their shoes at home or in the car. You could serve fish or shrimp at your reception.

There are just so many ways you can tie a bow or arrange flowers.

So why not take a few extra minutes & concentrate on the ceremony itself? You know, the "do you take" part. It is to be the highpoint of the wedding; the time when you vow & promise your love & devotion to this one special person.
Experience is that those couple who spend the extra time feel their time was wisely spent.

Your wedding 'speaks' to your guests? What do you want to say to them? To each other? To God? How do you want your guests to feel after they witness your ceremony?

This ceremony is a time-honored rite but should be laced with your own personal touches. Make it truly your own.

Pick a unique theme, or a unique location if possible. Perhaps, a unique time? If everyone else is having afternoon weddings with dinner receptions, consider a late evening (7pm) candlelight wedding with a cake/punch reception, etc.

There are lots of things you can do! Try having it at an unusual place, not just a church or chapel. Wear a wedding dress with colors not just white. Use real flowers on your cake instead of icing flowers. Have a midnight wedding or a theme wedding!

I'm not going to give you a ridiculous answer nor am I going to give you a smart one. This question in life on you what do you like to do with your husband, talk with him. Do not openly express that you're planning a wedding but it must be a setting you both can share for the rest of your lives. This moment is very important you should keep this between you and your husband. Don't let someone choose what will be the moment in your life where you dedicate yourself to some one, it's just immoral.

Add lots of color and let you stand out in the sexy wedding dress of yours. Have lots of different colors. Ask your guests not to wear white. Play fun games at your reception. Do kareoke.
